Setup your skins

In order to use some of the Ajax features such as the Modal Popups with DNN you must set the DOCTYPE for your skins to be Transitional, you do this by creating a doctype file for each skin.

For Example, if your skin is MYSKIN.ASCX you would create a doctype file called MYSKIN.DOCTYPE.XML, in the same folder where the skin resides. Notice the MYSKIN is the name of the ASCX file, not necessarily the name of the skin folder itself. You'll need to create a doctype.xml file for each ASCX file you want to be transitional.

In that file you would have

<SkinDocType><![CDATA[<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"

This may however require other tweaking to your skin for the rest of your site to display properly, most DNN skins that display fine with the standard doctype need some adjustments to make them display fine when switched to Transitional.
