Content not indexed by DNN Search

I have followed the instructions setting up the search index module on a public page with no other modules on it. I have Re-indexed my site from the DNN Search Admin page. Still, none of the content in my modules is showing up in my search results. What adivce or trouble shooting tips can you provide?

Re: Content not indexed by DNN Search

Stuart, first thing I'd do is go to the Host/Scheduler and take a look at the Search indexing job, see if it has run recently. If so, make sure it is marked as True for completing.

Other things you can do is check out the SearchItem table, see if there are any items in there that look like your Publish content.

Let me know what you find.

Re: Content not indexed by DNN Search

Thanks for the quick response!

The search indexing job appears to be running successsfully every 30 minutes.

I checked the SearchItem table and none of the content is Publish content.

I have double checked to make sure the page and module are visible to all users. The site isn't public yet otherwise I would show you the page.

PS. Where can I find your blog post about "ScriptManager Page Load Exceptions". I saw your post on this thread. I am having this issue with an install of DNN 4.7

Re: Content not indexed by DNN Search

The blog post can be found here.

I believe there is also a fix in DNN 4.8.2, so if you can upgrade you might check that out when it releases.

As for your search issues.

First thing to check, in the DNN database there is a DesktopModules table, find the entries for Engage: Publish (there should be 3 if you're on Publish 5.0) Check the "IsSupportedFeatures" column for those three, let me know what the values are.

Re: Content not indexed by DNN Search

I am on version 4.04 so this is what I see.

Engage: Publish - IsSupportedFeatures = -1

Engage: Publish Search Indexer - IsSupportedFeatures = 2

Re: Content not indexed by DNN Search

Any chance you can upgrade your version of Publish?

Do you have any errors in your event viewer (logged in as host) that might show problems occuring with the search indexing?

Re: Content not indexed by DNN Search

I just purchased 4.4 in January and my site isn't live yet. I would prefer not to buy version 5 if I can. Is there a way for me to get a refund on 4.4 because it was not deployed?

Re: Content not indexed by DNN Search

Stuart, all our modules come with a year of free upgrades, so you can upgrade to 5.0.1 at no cost!

Just email me a copy of your receipt and I will setup your profile here on engagemodules.com to have access to the downloads. chammond @ engagesoftware.com

It won't take but a minute, and upgrading is easy.

If the upgrade doesn't fix your problem I will gladly continue to track this down and get your search indexing working.
