Popup Comment Error

When a reader clicks on 'Add a Comment' the pop up box displays. However there is no Last Name field instead there is a Last Initial Field ? So the reader is asked for there comment, First Name, Last Initial and URL. But when the Comment appears in the admin section waiting for approval it shows the Last Initial as the Last Name and after approval it shows the Last Initial as the Last Name under the comment.

Under error is under the Admin Section the comments appear twice, i.e one comment is repeated twice in succesion, and ideas why ?

Re: Popup Comment Error

I believe the setting in the Article Display options allows you to change if it takes last name or last initial.

As for the double entries in the comment list, I'm trying to track that down. It doesn't happen all the time, I believe it is occuring when people hit the submit button twice, but need to do some more testing.

Re: Popup Comment Error

I have noticed the blank labels for first/last name as well.  It looks like it happens when you're using ActiveForum comments, and you're pointing to a common Article display.  in the settings for that module if you set first name, last name, email, etc collection option to 'None', they still show, with blank labels for name fields.  In the case of ActiveForums comments, I don't think they should show anyway...assuming you're using authentication for the forums.

Re: Popup Comment Error

I tried adding this to my portal.css:

#CommentFirstName {display:none;}
#CommentLastName {display:none;}
#CommentEmail {display:none;}
#CommentURL {display:none;}

But it didn't hide those fields.

Re: Popup Comment Error

We'll try to take a look at this and get it cleaned up in the next release.

I had capitalized Comment*.  Needs to be:

#commentFirstName {display:none;}
#commentLastName {display:none;}
#commentEmail {display:none;}
#commentUrl {display:none;}
