Display articles from Category and SubCategories

 christoc wrote
Currently the Custom Display control will only display articles out of a Category, not articles in subcategories beneath that Category.

I'll have to look into the bug you're having. For now though you might be abl;e to configure the ItemListing control to do what you need, listing off the most recent articles from a Category and all subcategories below it, with a limit to the number of items, and sorted by created date descending.

Chris

I have a Category "News" with several subCategories under it.

I am trying to build a page that will list the articles in category "News" including all subcategories.
I would also like to have it sorted DESC by DateCreated and also allow pageing.

However, I haven't been unsucessfull trying to find a setting that will allow this.
Is this possible yet?

Re: Display articles from Category and SubCategories

It is not possible at the moment due to Custom Display only being able to pull information from one level.

Is this currently on the road map?

If not, I would like to request it as a feature.

If so, how far down the road map is it...

I believe I am going to write a module to do this since I need it right away, but curious about a timeline...

Thanks,

Brad

Re: Display articles from Category and SubCategories

It is on the roadmap and will most likely be two releases out at this point in time.
