Dan, I'm not quite sure of the problem. Do you have two different Publish modules, both configured to use the display type of Category Feature? They should each be setup to point to different categories. Then you need to edit those categories and assign articles into the "featured" setting for the individual categories.

Can you confirm you've done all that?

Well, unfortunatley, I still have a problem.  One article is displaying 'randomly', but only one. 

This link goes to the page with the problem.  About halfway down the page, Recent VGTP Articles is supposed to be a random display of articles from the VGTP Recent Articles category.  Only one article, the one about Swanton, displays.  It is as if none of the other articles are part of the random display.

This link shows the settings of the Recent Articles Engage module on that page, indicating that articles should be displayed randomly.

How can I make all 5 articles display randomly?

Thank you for posting a possible fix. 

I clicked on each of the featured articles on the page for Category Edit.  For each featured article, I saved the date, then saved the category.  No effect. 

Went back in, changed the start date on the one article that  was displaying (Swanton, article 56), to December 3 (tomorrow).  No effect.

About 20 minutes later, a different article is listed, instead of Swanton, but still not random on each page load, and still no other articles are appearing in the random feature list. 

I reset the start date for Swanton to 12/1, but it still is not displaying as the one selected random article.  The one I keep seeing now is VGTP Adopts, article 55.

Question:  is there a potential problem running more than one module with Category Feature, using different categories, both set to random?  In case you are wondering, the other one is on the home page, for Vermont Featured Businesses.  Now that I look at it, it seems to be stuck on the Darn Tough Vermont sock company.  I have not looked at it recently, but I remember that the random rotation used to be good on the home page, but now we might be stuck.
