Preview's not working

Hi Chris,

http://cmcc.canamsolutionsinc.com/cmcc/ABOUTCMCC/tabid/177/ctl/AdminContainer/mid/969/adminType/VersionsList/itemId/22/Default.aspx

The content is being spread among multiple modules in the preview. I sent an email with a snapshot attachement of the above view. Our assumption was that the user would see a preview of the page with the proposed change on it. Is there something that neds to be configured for this to work?

Thanks,

Oscar Savoini

Re: Preview's not working

Oscar, I did find a bug in the links generated for the preview link in the email. However, can you verify the preview links from the URL you pasted in this message do or do not work as expected? The link you pasted should take you to a versions list for an article, from there you should find "preview" links for each version.

Re: Preview's not working

I think the URL I gave you might have been off. But it was the email that I meant to referr attention to. If you click on the link from

"To view this updated version please click here..."

You will see the distorted view. That's the view we're trying to fix. I think the link I pasted in this forum might have been lost in translation in the editor. Let's ignore that link.

Re: Preview's not working

I realize that Oscar, I'm just trying to verify that the other changes we made to the preview functionality (from the versions list page) is working as expected. If so, than the email fix I made in code a few moments ago is all I need to make.

Re: Preview's not working

I believe the version on the server right now is 5.2.6. Does that help? If you'd like to me to look for something, let me know. That version you gave us a little while ago (October?).

Re: Preview's not working

Oscar, the link in your original post

http://cmcc.canamsolutionsinc.com/cmcc/ABOUTCMCC/tabid/177/ctl/AdminContainer/mid/969/adminType/VersionsList/itemId/22/Default.aspx

will take you to the versions list for that particular article. In that list you should see a "preview" link. My question is, does the link(s) for the preview of the invidual versions of that item work differently than the link generated in the email notification which looks like this http://cmcc.canamsolutionsinc.com/cmcc/ALUMNIFRIENDS/tabid/100/VersionId/2728/Default.aspx

Also please test this on the latest package I sent you for testing over the weekend, there were a lot of changes regarding version previews over the last week or so. Though I have confirmed and corrected a bug in the generated email for the review link, that will be included in the release package of Publish 5.3

Re: Preview's not working

Hey Chris,

Can you provide the source code for this version. What you provided on the weekend appears to be for install only. Would be be able to make changes to this version?

Re: Preview's not working

Installing 5.2.9 appeared to fix an issue with link #1 in the 'publisher email' for preview. Everything looks great now. The link below that which allows the publisher to see article versions appears to have an issue which denies access to the user (appearantly) unless they have admin or host roles associations.
